CityBike is Northern California's monthly motorcycle magazine. It has been published in San Francisco since 1984 and has consistently been one of the U.S.'s most entertaining and informative motorcycle magazines. It's geared to the enthusiast, with feature articles on places to go and things to do, as well as bike tests on the latest sport and touring bikes. It's not a Harley lifestyle rag and we don't test cruisers. We do, however, write articles for intelligent people who think motorcycles should go around corners fast. Each month, we devote nearly half the issue to "News, Clues and Rumors," keeping CityBike readers informed of developments that affect how we live and what we do. It includes legslative information, racing updates, and other goings-on in the motorcycle world. We've also got a retinue of great columnists, including the legendary Maynard Hershon(with whom you'll be familiar if you follow bicycling, too), and Herb Chain. |

Along with the great news of Mat Mladin's race win at Laguna Seca,
comes the launch of the much anticipated Mat Mladin Imports website.
The site is rich with products, news and a little history on the
Six-time AMA Superbike Champion and his successful business.
With over 15 manufacturers showcased (such as Joe Rocket, Yoshimura,
MSR, Tour Master / Cortech and many others), everyone from motorcycle
enthusiasts to industry insiders are sure to enjoy exploring this site.
Mat Mladin Imports has been the fastest growing importer / distributor
to both Australia and New Zealand, launching new brands into those
markets while taking established, existing brands to the number one
position.
Starting in May of 2000, the company has rapidly grown with a
reputation for quality products, excellent service and well maintained
stock levels. With an established infrastructure which includes a state
of the art warehouse with over 35,000 sq/ft centrally located in
Sydney, Australia, Mat Mladin Imports is equipped to supply and manage
a high volume of motorcycle products. Recently, MMI has expanded
operations by opening an office and warehouse just outside of Auckland,
New Zealand to service the dealer network throughout the country.
When it came time to choose an agency to work with to build his web
presence, Mladin knew he could rely on Mojotown to create a fun and
effective site quickly and efficiently. "I'm confident that I've found
the right partner to help me promote Mat Mladin Imports", Mladin
commented on his decision to work with Michael Aron and his Mojotown
creative team. "Mojotown brings something creative and different to the
table, and I'm looking forward to watching my website evolve."
The site was a labor of love for Mojotown founder, Michael Aron, who
has developed a clientele which includes many of the familiar names in
the motorcycle industry.

Second time around with Ted Simon |

State Highway 162 twists and turns delightfully as it passes alongside the Eel River. Author Ted Simon moved into this area of Northern California in 1980 and purchased a homestead with the money he had made from his famous book, Jupiter’s Travels.
The book that inspired thousands of wannabe motorcycle adventurers to mimic him over the years and the book that still inspires them.
I couldn’t help thinking how remote the area was. Mile after mile would pass without once seeing a single dwelling of any kind and I was sure to keep the old GS right down the middle of the road since this area might well have been a deer preserve.
I also couldn’t help thinking that if this area was this remote now how wild it must have been in 1980! |
