CityBike

CityBike is Northern California's monthly motorcycle magazine. It has been published in San Francisco since 1984 and has consistently been one of the U.S.'s most entertaining and informative motorcycle magazines. It's geared to the enthusiast, with feature articles on places to go and things to do, as well as bike tests on the latest sport and touring bikes. It's not a Harley lifestyle rag and we don't test cruisers. We do, however, write articles for intelligent people who think motorcycles should go around corners fast.

Each month, we devote nearly half the issue to "News, Clues and Rumors," keeping CityBike readers informed of developments that affect how we live and what we do. It includes legslative information, racing updates, and other goings-on in the motorcycle world.

We've also got a retinue of great columnists, including the legendary Maynard Hershon(with whom you'll be familiar if you follow bicycling, too), and Herb Chain.

QUAIL MOTORCYCLE GATHERING
By Gary Rather (photos left and above)
After seeing the flyer for the Quail Motorcycle Gathering. I was looking forward to an upscale motorcycle show. And was rewarded with a very nice setting.
The motorcycle show was set up on the driving range of the resort a nice venue, plenty of space and a great selection of classic motorcycles.
There were three sections set up. Pre-War, Post-War and Modern Era. Now since I was a mere teenager when the “modern era” was supposed to start, in 1975,  I thought that in my own history of motorcycles 1975 was a very long time ago. But I was reminded that the motorcycle industry has been around for quite some time. And a lot of the stuff that is left, turned up at Quail Lodge.
