CityBike Magazine, December 2016

Let's call this the "alternative adventure" issue...

  • We ride Honda's VFR1200X, and get it dirtier than the next 10 big ADV bike owners.
  • We ride Honda's "sensible" NC700X with more anger and abandon than you might expect, even from us.
  • We ride Honda's CB500F—maybe we oughtta call this the Honda payola issue...
  • Tuscany By Vespa: San Francisco Scooter Girls Ride Italy .
  • Locals Only: Bruce Prater's DR650 Supermoto.
  • CityBike Magazine, November 2016

    Our most authentic issue yet!

  • Authentically Awesome: Moto Guzzi's V9 Roamer.
  • The Sportiest Sportster: H-D's Sportster Roadster.
  • Santa Rosa Mile 2016.
  • Ghosts & Machines.
  • Locals Only: Terry Otton's Mulder-built Triumph Flat Tracker.
  • CityBike Magazine, October 2016

To beak or not to beak...

  • We pit BMW's R1200GS against Yamaha's Super Ténéré. Which bike wins? Depends on who you talk to.
  • We ride Honda's CB500X... and mostly talk about how we'd turn it into a replacement for the venerable KLR.
  • Yuri Barrigan returns to the Isle of Man (with more cylinders).
  • Peter Mars comes clean about our original test ride of Alta's prototype.
  • Locals Only: Liza Miller and the Re-Cycle Garage.
  • Uneasy Rider August 2016

Uneasy Rider: Put Up or Shut Up

Remember when we here at CityBike admonished overly cautious riders for splitting with their hazards on because lane splitting isn’t a hazard if you’re doing it right? This right here is another commandment straight from the gentle but firm hand of God, or the vintage typewriters of CityBike, whichever you prefer—it’s the same, doncha know?

    CityBike Magazine, September 2016

    Roustabouts...

  • We hustle 'round town on Harley-Davidson's Forty-Eight and Yamaha's Bolt C-Spec.
  • We sit down with the team behind the Santa Rosa Mile Flat Track-aganza
  • 2 Wheel Safety Training's Total Control Advanced Rider Clinic.
  • Locals Only: BMW Motorcycles of SF's "HPT" R Nine T custom build.
  • Bungee Brent's Backroad Bash 2016

Bungee Brent’s Backroad Bash 2016, or “Do You Wanna Get Murdered? ‘Cause This Is How You Get Murdered!”

The scene has a real “The Hills Have Eyes” vibe—we’re in a grove of trees, with many high vantage (sniper) points surrounding us. The hodgepodge of digging and gardening tools, oddball collection of vehicles ranging from a dilapidated Vanagon to a modern Tahoe, and makeshift tent-like shelters add up to just creepy enough for concern. Against our admittedly limited better judgment, we poke around and call out a bit more. No dice.

    CityBike Magazine, August 2016

Apparently you do need six speeds!

  • We ride Yamaha's updated FJR1300A.
  • There's a "special dual-sport section," starting with a tale of three dual-sports. The latest on our CRF250L project; cheap-ish, light-ish XT225 dual-sport project; we turn a Honda Hawk GT into a "dual-sport."
  • Sam gets sheet done at the 2016 Sheetiron.
  • We ride Bungee Brent's Backroad Bash, with the aforementioned actual dual-sports and "dual-sport" Hawk, and bring a goddamn dune buggy. You know, just in case.
