You heard it here first—long-time favorite East Bay escape route and original path for our Fuck Black Friday ride, Redwood Road, is open again.
The Alameda County Public Works page for the closure still shows the road as “closed,” with the reopening scheduled for this evening at 6 PM. But we just spoke to the Public Works maintenance team on the phone, and they confirmed that Redwood has just re-opened, “ahead of schedule” (if you don’t count the extensive delays).
After a year without Redwood, which as it happens is just moments from the luxurious garages of CityBike World Headquarters, you can bet your ass we’ll be checking out the new pavement, since it’s the most direct route to our favorite coffee spot, Castro Valley’s Cornerstone Coffee.
