Bay Area Whomps LA in Supercross Print E-mail

That's right, San Francisco and the Bay Area beat Anaheim and the LA Basin by a whopping 10,000 fans.  In round numbers, paid attendance for Round 3 at Anaheim-II on January 23 was 32,000 while at AT&T park on the 30th, 42,000 fans showed up to party and watch great racing under a rain-free sky.  They got what they came for - fireworks, ladies in leather tossing T-shirts, the Jaegermeister stunt riders and, I almost forgot to mention, Supercross high drama.

Ducati Announces New Monster 796 Print E-mail

Story By Gabe Ets-Hokin Last month, a friendly source from deep in the bowels of a Ducati dealer leaked to me that Ducati would introduce a new middleweight Monster based on the Hypermotard 796's motor and the Monster 1100's chassis and single-sided swingarm, priced under $10,000. That model is now and official reality, and will be in dealer showrooms in June, priced at $9995. Ducati also announced its “Monster Art” body kits, a selection of bolt-on bodywork for the Monster family that will allow owners to easily customize their rides

Christina Shook  (Chicks on Bikes), and Ed Milich (Wrenched: Man and Machine) set out on a whirlwind tour of the Bay Area to read from and sign their books for local enthusiasts.  Six locations in about as many days is about as intense as it can get - we caught up with them on a rainy Friday night at Santa Rosa BMW & Triumph.

desperation from under the pop-up awning of a rider with a national number plate. The heats were being called, the rider was suited up and pacing, the chain wasn’t on, and his crew couldn’t find the pliers to snap the clip onto the master link.
